Choose and use sunscreen properly

UVB radiation with a wave length of 280-320 nanometers causes skin darkening and burning. UVA radiation with a wave length of 320-400 nanometers only darkens the skin.

Moderate sunscreen SPF 4 to 8; SPF from 20 to 30 helps protect skin burn very well, does not darken the skin.

UVB radiation with a wave length of 280-320 nanometers causes skin darkening and burning. UVA radiation with a wave length of 320-400 nanometers only darkens the skin. Human skin is sensitive to radiation with a wavelength of 296 nanometers. The sun emits radiation reaching the earth with a wave length of about 310 nanometers. So sunscreen that absorbs maximum radiation in the above range is an effective sunscreen.

On sunscreen jars often have SPF (sun protection factor). If you take a dose of sunlight that causes redness on the skin, apply sunscreen with a dose of sunlight that causes redness on the skin without applying the cream. So the greater the sunscreen with the SPF value, the more resistant it is to ultraviolet radiation and, of course, better cream.

Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before going to the street.(Photos: onemedical).

Each SPF value has a certain value. SPF 2 to 4 only minimizes sunburn but still darkens the skin. SPF of 4 to 8 protects moderate sunburn, has somewhat darkening. When applying this cream, the ability to sunbathe under UVB rays has a longer duration of 8-12 times.

SPF 12 to 20 protects skin burns very well, with little or no tanning. This cream has the ability to dry under UVB with a longer time than no application is 12-20 times. SPF from 20 to 30 helps protect skin burn very well, does not darken the skin. Sunscreens with SPFs higher than 30 even 40 or 50, sun protection is also not significantly higher. Under FDA regulations, ice creams have an SPF value greater than 30, even if it is 30+.

One thing to note is the amount of application. At least 25 grams each, about 6 teaspoons. If using a cream with a high SPF, the low dose does not make sense. After a certain period of time, the temperature is high, the cream melts, sweats with sweat or bathing, reducing sun protection.

It should be noted that the head, eyes or some mucous membranes should not be applied with sunscreen. If you rely on the use of ice cream to prolong your sunbathing time, it is very harmful to not take measures to protect these organs. The true nature of sunscreen is that the chemicals absorb ultraviolet radiation so sunscreen also causes allergies in some sensitive people. So try it by applying a little on the inside of the arm, if there is no special phenomenon then use it.

Take the following steps when using sunscreen:

  • Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going to the street.
  • Just apply a thin layer of cream on the skin.
  • Select a sunscreen with an appropriate SPF. For light skin, choose sunscreen with SPF 20-30, and SPF 10-20 for darker skin.
  • After applying the first cream, apply once every 2 hours.
  • Sunscreen must be applied to the skin of the neck area.
  • If preparing to go to sea, 2-3 weeks before, supplement vitamins A, C, and E with zinc and selenium. When you go, apply sunscreen as soon as you get in the car. Then apply once every two hours, or apply after each shower.
