Clean water of To Lich river with chemicals

Research Institute for Rural Development Assistance (IRARD) on 24/8 proposed Hanoi City People's Committee to pilot the use of chemicals to clean up water in the To Lich River.

Youth (August 25) cited Mr. Pham Van Tuong, Research Department of Materials and Environment under IRARD, said that if approved by the City, in the period before the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long, the institute will use the solution. spraying on six open ditches including Thuy Khue, Cong Vi, Nghia Do, Lang Trung, Thai Ha, Yen Lang and all the To Lich river from Buoi to Nga Tu So sections.

After spraying this solution, the odor will be reduced immediately, while it will take 1-2 days to make water and the water color will remain for one month. It will then build a dam to keep the water in place before pouring it into the river to create a flow.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee Vu Hong Khanh asked the implementing agency to clarify the unit cost of treatment in cubic meters of waste water; prove the products after processing to ensure environmental standards, report to the City People's Committee for consideration and decision.

In September 2009, Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment submitted a plan to implement the project of urgent solutions to solve environmental pollution from now to 2010 with a total investment of about 1,329 billion VND. In which, it is planned to take the Red River water through Lien Mac station to bring to the settlement of To Lich river pollution.

Mr. Pham Van Khanh, deputy director of Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said that this source of alluvial water will go through the system of roads, pumping stations and settling tanks so that before being put into To Lich River, this water source will no longer Alluvial.

According to the project, the To Lich River will invest in a pilot project of 1km upstream with the aim of ensuring the criteria of drainage, environment and landscape. This project will follow the principle of separation and collection of wastewater on both sides of the river, construction of a small-scale treatment plant and water after treatment to discharge into the river.
