Computer size only with USB memory card
The Raspberry Pi machine is primarily for kids for only about 25 USD.
Raspberry Pi can be easily placed in a child's pocket or in a school bag. The device was invented by British programmer David Braben with two advantages: compact size and low cost.
To implement this product, Braben tried to minimize the computer components as little as possible. It includes only a very small motherboard, integrating an ARM 700 MHz, SDRAM 128 MB processor and a Wi-Fi wireless connection module.

Storage memory is provided using an SD card slot. Raspberry Pi uses a USB 2.0 connector to connect to the keyboard and add an HDMI port to connect to the TV screen.
Despite its compact size, it still has the ability to handle many tasks, is compatible with OpenGL ES2.0 and can decode H.264 1080p. On the prototype there is even a 12 megapixel image sensor.
Since the ARM processor is only used, it cannot run Windows, but the Raspberry Pi can work on GNU / Linux systems. Ubuntu developers are also paying close attention to this tiny computer.
Braben said the machine is primarily for schools and hopes to be welcomed by students. Raspberry Pi allows children to surf the web as well as discover new things in computer programming. Commercial version will be released next year.
