Dell high-performance workstation
Dell officially announced the expansion of its line of workstations with the Dell PrecisionTM 390 designed to enhance the performance, scalability and overall efficiency of customers on August 8.
Dell Precision 390
Dell Precision 390 workstations have custom configurations including Intel® Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors.
Dell Precision 390's improved chassis provides the flexibility to set up and re-establish the system. For example, customers can easily switch between two (vertical) tower and desktop (lying) configurations by the case of an ideal detachable tray design when expanding and networking the system.
The large ventilation slots on the front of the machine and the real-time temperature sensor improve the performance of the radiator fan, reducing the noise level by 20% when the machine is idling.
Dell Precision 390 outstanding features :
• High speed system flexibility (front side bus) can be expanded from 800MHz (single core) to 1.066MHz (dual core) with L2 cache from 2MB to 4MB shared.
• Memory can expand to 8 GB2.
• Support SATA hard drive and SAS with up to 750 GB3 storage capacity including RAID configured with 4 hard drives (RAID configuration supports at least 2 hard drives).
• Optional NVIDIA® and ATI OpenGL graphics cards to meet graphics processing capabilities.
Dell will also include the Core 2 Duo mobile processor into Dell Precision mobile phones, Latitude, Inspiron and XPS in the next few months.
