Denmark is at the forefront of producing clean energy

Denmark has achieved the highest share of national income from windmill production and other clean energy technologies.

According to a new report by the International Fund for Nature Protection (WWF) published May 9 at an industrial conference in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Denmark is a country that has long been at the forefront of energy. wind, obtained 3.1% of gross domestic product (GDP) from renewable energy and energy saving technology, equivalent to 6.5 billion euros (9.4 billion USD).

According to the report, China is the largest producer in terms of income, earning more than 44 billion euros (64 billion USD), equivalent to 1.4% of the country's GDP. Production of green technologies in China has grown at breakneck speed of up to 77% / year.

"China has made a conscious decision on the political level to capture and develop this market drastically," said Donald Pols, a WWF economist . Meanwhile, the US ranked 17th in clean technology production with 0.3% of GDP or 31.5 billion euros (45 USD), but the industry has expanded at a rate of 28% per year since 2008.

According to Mr. Pols, the US is developing substantially and it seems that US President Barack Obama's policy is working. However, the US cannot compare with China, which is currently producing solar cell systems to serve the domestic market, similar to what they are doing with wind power in the past few years.

After Denmark and China, other countries in the top 5 of clean energy production by the ratio of GDP are Germany, Brazil and Lithuania. The issue of clean energy is currently concerned by many countries, especially since the nuclear crisis at Japan's No.1 Fukushima power plant.
