This skeleton has been unearthed in Anhui Province, China. According to the analysis, this mother ichthyosaur was giving birth to a child still in her mother's womb, another child escaped her pelvis preparing to be born and another was born out.
The second pre-embryo posture posture has shown that ichthyosaur is a terrestrial species, rather than in water as some studies have shown before.
Ichtyosaurs are carnivorous reptiles and live in the ocean at dinosaurs. This species changes to live underwater after living as reptiles on the ground. Therefore, this species has a lizard-like appearance.
