Discover super Earth covered with precious stones, shimmering in the universe

Researchers have discovered a unique shimmering planet in the universe with surfaces covered with sapphire and ruby.

Named HD219134 b , this is in the constellation of the star constellation, 21 light-years from Earth.

Astronomers said that unlike Earth, the large capacity HD219134 b does not have a giant iron core structure but is rich in calcium and aluminum, helping it to possess large amounts of gems.

'Maybe it's sparkling red or blue like ruby and sapphire, because these gems are aluminum oxide, which is common on this exoplanet,' said Caroline Dorn, astrophysicist at The Institute of Computer Science at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) said.

At nearly five times the size of Earth, HD219134 b is also known as a 'super Earth' and one year in its astronomical cycle is only three days on our planet.

HD219134 b is one of three 'candidates' likely to belong to a new peripheral planet, according to Dorn and colleagues.

During formation, stars such as the Sun are surrounded by gas and dust - where they are born. The rocky planets like Earth formed from solid objects that remained when the gas surrounding the planet initially dispersed. These blocks of matter condense when the gas layer is cooled.

'Normally, the masses of matter form in areas where the element produces stones such as iron, magnesium, and silicon , ' explains Dorn. This process creates iron-core planets like Earth. However, there are also areas close to the star that should be much hotter.

The researchers believe that they produce a new type of planet, completely different from calcium and aluminum, which is the main structural element along with magnesium and silicon, but almost no iron."That's why these planets can't, for example, have magnetic fields like Earth ," said the researcher.

She said she found three planets capable of new super-Earths and HD219134 b is one of them.
