The remains are believed to be of a Mayan queen.

Inside a pyramid, archaeologist Francisco Estrada Belli discovered a burial room with bones believed to be the queen of Maya. The skeleton is about 3,000 years old.

'On the spot we found a skeleton. It seems to be in the position of the fetus, because the knee is against the chest. I can see parts of the skull, some leg bones and some ribs. From the shape of the pelvis may have seen the skeleton is female , "Francisco Estrada Belli said.

For more evidence, archaeologists who carried out further excavations showed a second burial room next door. This is the base where archaeologists hope that a king's skeleton will also be found.

Although dating back at least 1,500 years, archaeologists still discovered a vase with the words: "Here, get your cup."

Mr. Belli said: 'This is a worthy vessel for a king'.

In fact, finding the remains of both a king and queen from this era is extremely rare , it will help clarify the mysterious Mayan civilization.

Currently, archaeologists are continuing to take necessary measures to accurately determine the identity of the skeleton in the most convincing way.
