Telegraph said the coins were discovered on the ground, in the area near the town of Seaton. Roman coins may be available from the reign of Constantine the Great.
Laurence Egerton, a metal enthusiast, discovered this treasure. With an amount of 22,000 copper alloy coins, this is considered the largest and most preserved collection from the 4th century, once discovered in England.
Excavation was carried out in November last year, when Egerton accidentally found the first coins with a metal detector. Egerton slept in the car for three nights to protect the location of the discovery and contacted the local government. A group of archaeologists then moved and cleaned up these coins.
