Discovered 3 ancient Vietnamese skeletons of 5,000 years in Ha Tinh

Three ancient Vietnamese skeletons are located close to each other in a plot of land in Ru Diep mountain (Ha Tinh) with a width of 6 m2, under a sediment depth of 1.8 m. The skull, teeth, ribs, hand bones and legs are quite intact.

On April 21, Mr. Nguyen Tri Son, Director of Ha Tinh Museum, said that the unit is cooperating with Australian National University and Hanoi National University to excavate 3 ancient Vietnamese skeletons in Ru Mountain. Diep, Thach Dai commune, Thach Ha district (Ha Tinh).

According to Mr. Son, 3 skeletons are close together under sediment at a depth of 1.8m, in a 6 m2 wide plot of land, head toward the west.The skulls, teeth, ribs, hand bones and legs are still quite intact.

Currently, archaeological experts are expanding this excavation pit to continue peeling sediments around this 3 human skeleton. The team also set up barriers and told local authorities to protect the excavation area.

'Initial determination of the age of these three skeletons is in the Neolithic period, about 5,000 years ago, ' said Son.

Mr. Son said, the excavation of archaeological site Ru Diep was approved by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from March 20 to May 20 with the help of domestic and foreign experts.

It is known that Ru Diep mountain is often called Ru Diep mound, where there is no population living.The discovery of these three skeletons is a testament to the existence of the ancient Vietnamese in Ha Tinh.
