Discovered a 4,300-year-old jade disc in China

The jade disc more than 25cm in diameter with a life of more than 4,300 years is the largest antiquity ever discovered in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China.

Archaeologists have discovered a jade plate from the Liang Chu civilization - more than 4,300 years ago - in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, Eastern China.

According to the July 29 announcement of the Zhejiang Provincial Office of Cultural Relics, this 25 cm diameter jade disc is the largest antiquity ever discovered in Huzhou city.

Through artifacts assessment, experts from the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Archeological and Cultural Monuments confirmed that the jade disc belonged to the ancient Chinese civilization of Liang Chu.

Artifacts may have been made at the end of this civilization, ie about 4,300 to 4,600 years ago. At that time, the maximum diameter of a jade disc usually does not exceed 24cm.

The Luong Chu ruins in Zhejiang Province have been recognized by the world as a clear proof of the existence of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years.

Earlier this month, the archaeological vestige of Luong Chu city was also recognized as a world cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
