Discovered a new species of toad in Fansipan

Scientists have discovered species of toad at an altitude of about 2,800 near Mount Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina.

During the survey in Hoang Lien National Park, Lao Cai Province, scientists from the Vietnam Museum of Nature and the Australian Museum found the new species of toad belongs to Leptolalax .

Their names are botsford eyebrows (Leptolalax botsfordi), named after Christopher Botsford scientist in honor of his contributions to the study of amphibian reptile research and scientific capacity building in Asia. This is also the species with the highest distribution height in this species so far.

According to the website of the Forest Biology (Vncreatures), the face of the body of Leptolalax botsfordi has a deep red color, the abdomen has white spots; males with body length of about 29.1-32.6mm, females 30-31.8mm; no dark spots on the side; skin folds on weak toes.
