Discovered an ancient rhino that has never been seen in Thailand

Geologists at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University of Thailand have confirmed that the fossils previously discovered by the locals belonged to the ancient rhino never known.

The team concluded that fossils of the hornless, flat- headed rhino are named Aceratherium porpani after the person who donated fossils to the university.

"Fossils include a complete skull and two lower jaw bones, which were found at a sand quarry near the Moon River in Chalerm Phrakiat district, Nakhon province, Thailand in 2003.

Later, fossils were transferred to Porpan Vatchajitpan, a former lecturer of Chulalongkorn University (Thailand). Trainers donated fossils to Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University's Research Institute in 2009 ".

The specimen was determined to have lived during the late Miocene period, so its age is about 6 to 7.5 million years.
