If you look at a circular nebula about 2,500 light-years from Earth, you might think it's a giant engagement ring in the universe.
Thanks to the Very Large Telescope (VLT) of the Southern European Observatory in South America, astronomers discovered a nearly circular shaped nebula about 2,500 light-years away from the globe. Abell 33, the name of the nebula, formed by an old star "blowing" its outer material into the surrounding space, the Daily Mail reported.
"This nebula is unusually symmetrical. We can say it is the closest circular object in the universe," the European Space Agency (ESA) said.

Symmetrical shapes are unusual for nebulae. Most nebulae are affected by a certain element that makes them look asymmetrical.
HD 83535 is the name of the big, bright star lying between the earth and the Abell nebula 33 . But in the picture, the viewer feels that it is on the edge of the nebula.
"With the combination of the Abell 33 nebula and the HD 83535 star, we see something like an engagement ring , " ESA said.
Most stars of the same mass as the sun will die to turn into white dwarfs - a small, very dense, hot mass. After the birth of a white dwarf, their temperature will gradually decrease after several billion years.
