The paddle fish with the nickname "sea monster" about three meters long was discovered yesterday on the coast of the Aramoana district, about 27 km from Denedin city of South Island, New Zealand.
David Agnew, an employee of the Conservation Agency, said it was one of the most exotic fish he had ever seen . It weighs about 30-50 kg and stays fresh.
According to Sky News, fish can be preserved for research purposes. Experts at Otago University say paddle fish can be up to 8 meters long, considered to be the world's longest living creature. Some can shorten the length by biting the tail.
