Discovering fossils of 250 million-year-old sea monsters

16 years ago, a man in England discovered an unknown object that was a giant sea monster fossil dating back 250 million years.

In 1997, while building a fence, John Lambert in Ipswich, he accidentally dug a bone of the Pliosaur reptile but he was unaware and stored it in a warehouse for 16 years.

Until last week, a 68-year-old banker decided to take it to the Ipswich Museum and shocked the experts to find that it was the bone of the 250-year-old Pliosaur sea monster .

The Daily Mail of the UK said the fossil is the front limb of 40.6cm in length and 6.8kg in weight.

Lambert said that when he discovered the bone, he had a thought to bring it to the inspection, but in the end, Lambert put it in the warehouse to keep it as a souvenir.

In the world, this reptile specimen has been found in Australia, China, the Americas and Africa.

According to many paleontologists, this species has a distant relative to the modern lizard, which once spread terror in the oceans hundreds of millions of years ago, at the same time as the dinosaurs.

With four paddles, large and strong jaws and sharp teeth, Pliosaur can kill prey at a glance including sharks and dinosaurs. The giant monster possesses 60 teeth, each about the size of a cucumber.

'His teeth are so strong that he can crush a car as easily as a hand. They may even compact a tyrant dinosaur , 'said Dr. Richard Forrest, a British reptile expert.
