Dolphins save athletes from shark jaws
With the escort of dolphins, the British swimmer was lucky to escape the shark's attack.
Adam Walker took part in a swim through the Cook Strait in New Zealand lasting 8 hours and 36 minutes. This is Walker 's sixth swim in the challenge of swimming across 7 oceans. Participants in this challenge will have to go through the 7 most difficult swimming areas in the world to raise funds for the Dolphin and Whale Protection Association.
While swimming, Walker realized there was a 2m long shark hovering under him. Fortunately, the shark was unable to attack him because a flock of dolphins appeared in time, creating a protective Walker cover. About 10 dolphins have swam with this athlete for about 1 hour.
For witnesses, it was a breathtaking sight when Walker's swimming strides matched the jumps of about 10 dolphins. They swam so close to him that he once touched their tails.
Dolphins actively protect him from the shark's attack or just want to swim with Walker yet to be clarified but this swimmer still feels very grateful to them.
'I did my sixth test yesterday, swimming through the Cook Strait for 8 hours and 36 minutes. But that's not the whole story. Besides the big waves and strong currents, my dream came true when I was swimming with dolphins for over an hour. I think they protected and led me. This trip will stay in my mind forever , ' Walker shared on his Facebook.
