Of the 5 specimens collected at a depth of 350m, 4 died. The child is still soaked in cold sea water, but also dies one day."The most visible feature of these sharks is the sharp teeth that are similar to the fangs of snakes. It is also the origin of the name of the snake shark" , Taiwan Fisheries Research Institute said.

Green snake snakes are preyed by a rapidly expanding jaw. They can use wide open mouths to swallow a whole relatively large fish. This glowing shark species is extremely rare. Researchers have only collected a few animals since they first discovered them in 1986.

Because green snake sharks are so rare, researchers know very little about them. They think that during the day they swim at a depth of 300-400m, while at night they operate 150m from the water surface. Food of green snake shark includes crustaceans and vertebrate fish, including lantern fish. Lantern fishes can be attracted by the glowing body of green snakes.

Green snake shark was first found outside Shikoku Island, Japan by the fishing boat Seiryo-Maru. It is scientifically named Trigonognathus kabeyai in honor of Hiromichi Kabeya, the ship's captain.
