Giant wolf fish wipes out entire lobster catch in American fisherman's nets.

A video from a fisherman in Maine shows an Atlantic wolf fish devouring a lobster after they were both trapped in the net, according to Newsweek.

Jacob Knowles, the man who posted the video, struggled with the wolf fish as it tried to bite him with its sharp teeth, Newsweek reported last week.

"It killed everything in the net ," Knowles said, pointing toward a pile of motionless lobsters. He then directed the fish's mouth toward the lobsters. When the fish snatched a lobster, Knowles threw it back into the sea.

"That was scary," he said, dodging the fish's teeth.

The Atlantic wolf fish is a formidable predator. With long, sharp teeth like a shark's, its bite can be painful. This species can grow up to 1.5 meters long and weigh up to 18 kilograms. The wolf fish's diet mainly consists of shellfish, crustaceans, and echinoderms.

The video has garnered millions of views and hundreds of thousands of reactions on social media. Some accounts expressed surprise at the fish's unusual sound and appearance.

Knowles is known for regularly posting videos on TikTok about the life of a tuna fisherman. Besides lobsters, he has also caught other unusual creatures – like this wolf fish – in his nets.

"We don't often catch these fish – they're protected," he said in the video. "We release them as soon as we catch them."
