Eat vegetables to keep the brain young
A new study of vegetables and aging recently shows that eating a lot of vegetables helps keep the brain young and sometimes slows aging-related mental decline.
According to a 6-year study of nearly 2,000 women and men in Chicago (USA), older people eat more than 2 meals a day with a brain younger than 5 years and less than 40% mentally impaired compared to those who eat less or never eat vegetables.
The study also found that people who eat a lot of vegetables improve their physical activity, adding that the evidence ' what is good for the heart is also good for the brain '.
Leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale . are the most beneficial vegetables for the brain. The reason may be because they are rich in vitamin E - an antioxidant that is believed to help fight substances that can harm cells caused by the body.
According to researcher Martha Clare Morris of Rush University (Chicago), in general vegetables contain more vitamin E than fruit. Vegetables that are used with healthy fats such as salad oils can help the body absorb vitamin E and other antioxidants easily. Fat from healthy oils can keep cholesterol low and clear arteries, both of which contribute to a healthy brain.
