A recent study published in Eurosurveillance - France said eating a lot of live oysters is at risk of developing gastroenteritis caused by norovirus.

Researchers emphasize that people with poor immune systems or chronic diseases, if they regularly eat oysters, are at higher risk of developing gastroenteritis than healthy people.
More than 330 patients with gastroenteritis from England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and France and regularly eat raw oysters participated in this study. After conducting tests to find out the cause of the disease, the researchers found that the same virus called norovirus found in live oysters is the main cause of the disease in these patients. Most people can be weak or wear a chronic disease.
