A group of French archaeologists have discovered the tomb of a royal female singer during the Pharaoh period at the archaeological site of Saqqara, located about 25km south of the Pyramids of Giza.

Cairo correspondent quoted Egyptian Minister of Labor Mohamed Ibrahim as saying that the tomb is a female singer named Ta-Ekhtand found by chance during the excavation of the nearby tomb area of the Meritee Atun. , the daughter of Emperor Akhenaten ruled Egypt under the 18th dynasty (1543-1292 BC).
The tomb of Ta-Ekhtand contains 3 interlocking human wooden sarcophagi. The outer sarcophagus was slightly damaged, while the two inner sarcophagi were preserved very well with the depiction of the deceased's facial features.
