Elon Musk revealed Tesla's ability to participate in manufacturing electric bicycles

Electric bicycles, mobile, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles are coming to a trend, as even Tesla is interested in producing it.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk is no stranger to creativity. From cars to rockets and to tunnel travel, this entrepreneur's rich imagination is redefining many industries, sometimes starting just from a joke or a few tweets.

And recently, he dropped a new bomb, which could open the door to a Tesla electric bike.

Recently in an interview with Kara Swisher on Recode Decode about the political situation in the US and Tesla's new electric truck, Mr. Musk shocked everyone by declaring when it was near the end of the talk.

While criticizing electric cars like Bird and Lime, and that Tesla would never make such a vehicle, he suddenly turned his attention to another electric two-wheeled vehicle : an electric bicycle.

And with that statement, Tesla can make a big change to the growing electric bicycle industry.

Can Tesla change the electric bicycle industry in America?

Despite strong pressure from the 25% tariff imposed by the Trump administration on electric bicycles imported from China, the US electric bicycle market is growing impressively year by year.

Electric bicycles are becoming increasingly popular in both leisure and daily travel in the US. However, almost no US domestic electric bicycle manufacturer is involved in producing this type of vehicle. Even after the Trump administration increased the import tax rate to increase the price of electric bicycles, most electric bicycle companies in the US confirmed that they did not plan to shift production to the US.

But Tesla can.

Leveraging their current design and production capabilities to produce a Tesla electric bike is relatively easy. And this could also create a powerful shift that has never been seen before in the electric bicycle industry.

The electric bicycle industry has come a long way from a decade ago. The original designs were based on standard bicycles with axle-mounted engines and batteries. Newer designs have become more sophisticated as parts, cables, and electrical components are more integrated into the vehicle.

However, there is still a large amount of important technological improvements that need to be done on electric bicycles in the next few years.

Not only is he famous for technology, Tesla is also famous for his design ability, when creating products with shapes that fit functions. But now, it's hard to imagine how Tesla's electric bike will be designed, but using lightweight and delicate materials like their other products is possible.

Even Tesla electric bikes can also be equipped with autopilot! It seems like the imagination has gone a bit far, but clearly with the resources that Tesla has in hand, almost anything can become feasible with the Tesla electric bike.

But does Tesla's electric bicycle become a reality?

Even though Mr. Musk has stated that he will never make a Tesla electric motorbike, he is still very optimistic about a Tesla-made electric bike.

Of course, we don't know for sure until he decides to expand his interest in electric bikes. But with the statement in the interview on Recode Decode, he seems to have thought about Tesla electric bikes. So maybe they will come sooner than you think.
