Establish saola conservation area in Thua Thien Hue

The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province signed a decision to establish the saola reserve, the name of a rare animal found only in central Truong Son, the border areas of Laos and Vietnam.

Thua Thien Hue Nature Reserve will connect with Quang Nam Saola Nature Reserve, Bach Ma National Park and Xe Sap National Reserve of Laos, forming a continuous and unified conservation corridor.

According to the announcement of the October 10 morning of the International Nature Conservation Fund (WWF), the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has a official letter to issue a decision to establish a reserve, and expand the area from 12,153 hectares ( According to the unified document of area size in 2008) to 15,519 ha.

The saola reserve is responsible for preserving the population of this species and two ungulates that carry large and carry Truong Son; conservation of other rare and precious animal and plant species; conservation of species, genetic resources and habitats .

The protected area will be protected with separate functional zones, strict protection zones, ecological rehabilitation zones and administrative and service zones. In particular, the NR includes an area of ​​remaining natural primary forest in the central Truong Son area. This is one of the most biologically diverse places in the region and around the world. At the same time, it is also the home of rare and endemic animals such as saola, Truong Son, large gills, zebra rabbits and many other plant and animal species of the central Truong Son.

Sao La, in the list of Red Book of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and Vietnam, is a highly endangered species. There are about 250 children in the world.
