Thua Thien-Hue: Discovering precious blood plants

In an area in Loc Vinh commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien-Hue, Vietnamese scientists have discovered a precious tree, bloody or crested plant. This is the plant can treat cancer.

In the process of studying the ecosystem of Cu Du hill, Bu Lu river mouth (Loc Vinh commune, Phu Loc district), Mai Van Pho biological master has identified 63 plant species including: 11 submerged plant species Characteristic salinity, 11 coastal submerged species, 41 hillside plant species.

Among these plants are especially bloody plants (a region called the blood tip or crest) called Salacia chinensis, which is medically valuable. This is a 1-2m high vines, small branches with edges, brown leaf bottom surface; Berries, pear-shaped, red fruits.

Considered a distinct medicinal species capable of limiting the growth of cancer cells, blood is being studied by many domestic and foreign scientists.

In addition to Bach Ma National Park, which is preserving the blood source, Mr. Mai Van Pho said that in Kim Phung mountain, Hai Cat village (Huong Tho, Huong Tra) people also discovered this medicinal species.
