The Prime Minister has agreed to license EVN Telecom to use the 1900 MHz frequency to deploy 3G mobile communication system according to ITU International Telecommunications Union standards.

This is one of the contents in Official Letter No. 7647 / VPCP-CN dated December 29, 2006 of the Government Office to the Ministry of Posts and Telematics, Ministry of Industry, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN). conveying the direction of the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on removing difficulties and granting telecommunications licenses to EVN Telecom.

EVN can be provided with WiMax service images 1 The Prime Minister asked that in the first quarter of 2007, EVN Telecom had to complete a review of WiMax service testing; Based on that, consider and license EVN Telecom to provide this service. At the same time, consider granting licenses to EVN Telecom's power companies to operate wired fixed telephone service and channel leasing services in accordance with current regulations.

Thus, up to this point, Vietnam has had 5 enterprises allowed to provide WiMax service test which are VNPT, Viettel, FPT, VTC and EVN Telecom.
