Mexican entrepreneurs have developed a low-cost electricity exploitation system by taking advantage of the traffic of vehicles on the road. This invention is capable of producing enough electricity to supply a household with a device that collects power from moving vehicles.

Macias Hernandez, the inventor of the technology, said scientists have invented a system that collects energy from the rolling of vehicles or the footsteps of passersby , but uses a piezoelectric roadbed. too expensive for developing countries.

Meanwhile, the new technology he developed uses a roadbed made of polymer materials (similar to those used in the production of tires) and is installed 5cm above the road surface. When the car passes by, the impact force will press on the roadbed of the system and put pressure on a bellows placed below. The air generated from this impact is pushed into a compressed air container and the compressed air is the generator turbine generator.

Hernandez said the amount of electricity gained is directly proportional to the amount of traffic passing through the roadbed. This technology can also be used in places where there are many pedestrians, when the impact force is the footsteps of people, as well as crowded places like the subway station.
