Scientists conducted a study with more than 300 elementary students in Essex, to assess the negative effects of modern life on children's health today. The results showed that today's elementary students are less muscular and their bodies are not balanced compared to their peers a decade ago.
Physical weakness makes it difficult for children today even when doing simple exercises. Scientists say that the cause of weakening children is because modern life makes video games, television and social networks dominate the outdoor activities, climbing trees, . of children.
The Daily Mail quoted Dr. Gavin Sandercock, a member of the research team, saying: ' Children are becoming increasingly vulnerable because of changes in their play activities compared to 10 years ago. Today, very few children play jumping rope and tree, instead, children are passionate about video games, watching TV, surfing the web '.
In this study, Dr. Gavin Sandercock warned that the rate of children with obesity in the UK is growing faster than any other country in the world.
Meanwhile, Tam Fry, a member of the Association for Child Development , identified the cause of children's physical health deteriorating in part because the current physical education hours at school are not enough. Instead of studying physical education at school for 2 hours / week, students need to be exercised 1 hour a day.
