Archaeologists have found a reed skirt made of 5,900 years ago in Armenia, the oldest in the world.
Mr. Pavel Avetisian, director of the Institute of Archeology and Armenian Nation, held a press conference on October 26 to announce the discovery of a piece of reed-made dress. AP quoted him as saying that archaeologists discovered a piece of dress during digging in a cave called Areni-1 in southeastern Armenia. Avetisian said this could be one of the oldest reed costumes in the world.
Earlier archaeologists also dug a 5500-year-old leather shoe in the Areni-1 cave. It is an ancient leather shoe with the highest age that archaeologists once knew.
Boris Gasparian, a member of the Areni-1 excavation team, said he and his colleagues also found the mummy of a goat dating to 5,900 years - 1,000 years taller than animal mummies found. see in Egypt.
