A new fingerprint scanning technique can help agencies investigate fingerprints and know if a person has a criminal record in just 30 minutes or less.
According to this technique, simply rolling finger on a screen, the automatic fingerprint scanner will capture fingerprints in the form of digital images. This image is then transferred to the database center by e-mail for identification. The Center will also send back information about this person by e-mail.
This method saves a lot of investigation time because it took at least 2 weeks before.
New scanner is being tested in Jefferson County (USA).
