AP quoted the Hawaii Volcanic Observatory as saying that scientists at the station saw lava erupt as soon as an area in Pu'u O'o's volcano Kilauea collapsed around 17:00 on March 5 .

' Those are the moments that we are waiting for. Seeing volcanic eruptions from the first moments brings a sense of excitement to volcanic researchers ', said Janet Babb, a volcanic expert working at the station.

Babb told the Hawaiian Tribune-Herald newspaper that the length of the crack had increased to 535 m but none of the houses could be attacked by lava.

Scientists warn that areas near new cracks can spray up or collapse at any time, endangering people. In addition, the dense accumulation of SO2 in the area with a radius of about 1,000 m around the fissure can also cause death for people.

Lava flowed down the foot of the mountain very quickly on March 5, but yesterday, the speed decreased. Devices recorded about 150 earthquakes in the volcano yesterday.

Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, continuously erupted from January 3, 1983. For nearly three decades, lava has buried an area of up to hundreds of square kilometers, creating black beaches and an ever-changing coastline. It also destroys houses and destroys those who seek to reach.
