Floods raging in the Central region, hundreds of passengers jammed

The central provinces have heavy rain, causing flash floods, landslides . making 7 people dead and missing, thousands of vehicles congested on the highway. Nearly 500 train passengers were stuck in Hue station.

According to reports of localities in the Central region, as of October 17, flooding and flooding has engulfed tens of thousands of houses, killing 7 people, missing and 4 injured. Highway 1A section through Quang Tri province from Lai Phuoc bridge to Bac Cau Ai Tu is submerged more than half a meter, thousands of vehicles are congested.

Currently, the provinces from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai have sent officials directly to the area to direct the response to floods; prepare food, food reserves ready to cope with long-term flood. In this morning, Quang Tri province evacuated 5,000 households and Quang Binh moved more than 1,300 households in deep flooded areas to safety.

According to damage statistics, in Quang Binh natural disaster caused two deaths, one missing and three injured, more than 10,000 houses flooded in flood. In Quang Tri, two people were swept away by the flood. In Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, more than 1,000 students in highland districts have to quit school. Thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil flooded the roadway, causing traffic jams, which endangered pedestrians. Thua Thien - Hue organized the relocation of over 500 households with more than 1,000 people in the afternoon and night of October 16.

Heavy rain caused the railway section from My Chanh (Hai Lang, Quang Tri) to Pho Trach (Phong Dien, Thua Thien - Hue) to be flooded more than 0.5m, nearly 500 passengers could not continue the journey due to railway traffic paralyze.

At Hue station, two trains of SE2 and SE4 must be stuck and cannot continue their journey. The living room of this train station said that 230 passengers of the SE4 ship have moved to SE2 and continue to wait for the train to travel to Hanoi. SE2 trains serve free meals to passengers during the time stuck here. Anyone who wants to pay tickets at Hue station and transfer to another means will also be accepted.
