Many flowers attract bees and other types of honey-sucking insects at night with vibrant colors by emitting sparkling phosphorescent light.
According to the research of scientists recently reported in the journal "Nature" , the "miraculous" flower Mirabilis jalapa only hatches in the late afternoon and emits light, though only weak, thanks to two pigment. The bright yellow pigment called Betaxanthin secretes phosphorus essential oil, and at the same time, another purple pigment called Betacyanin of flowers absorbs this phosphorus light.
Wellensittich bird
From there born a bright sparkling green unicorn green on the leaves. Using phosphorus essential oil to transmit signals is a rare thing and so far only seen in some animals such as the Wellensittich bird when choosing "mate" . As for plants, this phenomenon has not been clearly demonstrated.
Researcher Francisca Garcia Mona of the University of Murcia in Spain said: "This light can only lure bees or bats if they have special senses for green light." .
