What if there is a new invention on the milk bottle cap that can inform users that the shelf life of the product is good? Users will no longer have to worry about the safety of milk for a long time.

From this, scientists have come up with the idea of creating a smart bottle cap with 3D printing technology for food containers and liquid product bottles. Implementers of this idea are researchers at the University of California, Berkele (USA) and Chiao Tung National University in Taiwan.

3D printing technology is a technology for making 3D objects from a digital model. This technology is due to additive process, a process opposite to the subtractive process, which is often used to build the past. Under the ' instructions ' of the designed file, the printer will use materials such as plastic, paper, powder, polymer, metal . to create layers (with a 'thickness' of about 0.05- 0.1mm) according to the section of the object, these layers automatically link together right after printing.

The lid is equipped with 3D printed electronics with wireless sensors that constantly analyze products and warn users about the safety and benefits of the product. Specifically, if the product contains food-causing bacteria, the smart bottle cap will immediately notify the user.

Information from the smart bottle cap will be wirelessly transmitted to a mobile application or an interactive screen with the refrigerator to notify users. "The use of this 3D printing technology creates electronic circuits at a low cost, enough to be able to add packaging, providing food safety warnings to consumers. Someday, every people just download 3D print files with custom shapes and colors from the internet and then print and attach to the necessary devices at home, ' said Liwei Lin, the study's lead author.
