From the space station, astronauts still shudder because of Florence Florence
Alexander Gerst - a German astronaut currently working at the ISS Space Station has issued a cold warning of super typhoon Florence preparing to land in the United States.
'America, be careful. A nightmare is coming , "Alexander Gerst wrote on Twitter when he posted a photo of Typhoon Florence from space.(Photo: Alexander Gerst).
Gerst started working at the ISS Space Station from June 2018, and is currently about 250 miles from Earth.(Photo: Alexander Gerst).
The super-panoramic pictures of Florence were captured by Gerst from the ISS when the space station passed over the eye area.(Photo: Alexander Gerst).
'Florence Florence spreads over 500 miles. So we could only capture the whole storm with a super wide-angle lens , 'Gerst said.In addition to wide-angle lenses, Gerst also uses a telephoto lens to take close-up shots of the eye area.(Photo: Alexander Gerst).
'Have you ever looked down into the eye area of a level 4 storm? Really shudder, even though we are in space ' , Gerst said.(Photo: Alexander Gerst).
Not just Gerst, another NASA colleague - Ricky Arnold has also recorded scary images of super-giants rarely seen from space.(Photo: Ricky Arnold).
It is known that Arnold followed the Florence storm for several days.Previously, he had witnessed at least two super typhoons sweeping the Pacific Ocean, namely Helene (level 1) and Isaac.(Photo: Ricky Arnold).
Florence is a Category 4 super typhoon, formed on the East Coast of the United States, which is expected to begin to affect South - North Carolina from early morning on September 13 (local time).(Photo: Ricky Arnold).
According to the latest information, Florence's wind power has decreased from level 4 to level 2, but the size of the storm is still growing constantly, forcing millions of US East Coast residents to evacuate.(Photo: Ricky Arnold).
