That is the result of a study by a Japanese graduate student at Shizuoka University, published in the daily Daily Mail of the UK.
According to research results, people who regularly rinse their mouths with green tea three times a day for at least three months are less likely to get the flu than those who do not.
The tests were conducted on more than 600 volunteers when the flu outbreak began and spread rapidly in Japan recently.
In addition, the study also confirmed that gargling with green tea regularly can effectively prevent some oral and intestinal diseases than regular medicine.
Medical experts are also working to determine exactly the mechanism of catechin compounds in effectively blocking some of the viruses that cause disease.
