Generator powered by biogas

Biogas digesters have long been used by gas-fired farmers, who have now been used to run generators for production. Works implemented in Hoa Vang, Da Nang.

This work originated from the idea of Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga - Director of Da Nang University, was carried out in the commune by Dr. Nhan Hong Quang (Central Institute of Labor Protection and Environmental Protection in Central Highlands). Hoa Ninh, Hoa Vang district.

The team converted diesel-powered generator engines to run with treated biogas to exploit available, cheap and abundant fuel sources in the countryside. This work helps to partially solve the shortage of electricity in remote areas without electricity, contributing to the elimination of agricultural waste, and improved sanitation.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang - owner of the site in Hoa Ninh, Hoa Vang, Da Nang, beneficiaries of the project - said: "To serve this 6 hectare farm, each month the amount of electricity we have to pay Approximately 1 million VND, according to my calculations, if using biogas generator for irrigation, the farm will save nearly 600,000 VND to 800,000 VND / month ".

According to Dr. Nhan Hong Quang, if farmers want to take advantage of biogas sources in their homes, only small generators (1-5kW) are needed. After that, the authors will perform the conversion of fuel use. After one year of using biogas for electricity generators, people can depreciate their machinery. The conversion is simple and completely free."We want to aim to serve people in remote areas especially for ethnic people" - Mr. Quang said.
