The selection and giving of the statue of Academician Igor Kurchatov recognized the contribution and encouragement for scientists in Vietnam atomic energy industry. Igor Kurchatov is the leading scientist of the Soviet Union, having made great contributions to the development of the former Soviet nuclear industry and the Russian Federation today. He promoted the peaceful use of atomic applications and successfully built the world's first nuclear power plant in Obninsk city, operating and connecting the national grid on June 27th. 1954.Academician Igor Kurchatov is the "Chief Architect " of the former Soviet nuclear industry and the Russian Federation today, the founder and first director of the Atomic Energy Institute in the Soviet Union (1943-1960). .

Dr. Tran Chi Thanh studied in the Soviet Union, Moscow Energy School (1983-1989), majoring in nuclear power.
