'God's eyes' in the universe
The Helix Nebula is dubbed the "Lord's eye" because its shape is quite similar to a giant eye.
Helix (also known as NGC 7293) is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius (Aquarius) and 700 light-years from Earth. Discovered sometime before 1824, Helix was probably one of the closest to the Earth. It formed in the final stage of a sun-like star.
Clouds of gas dust outside "eyes" escape from the star's surface. The exit process is quite complicated but beautiful. The radiation from the star is so strong that it causes the surrounding dust to glow fluorescence. The core of the nebula will become a white dwarf.
Helix main belt has a diameter of about two light years. Although Helix is very large and bright, it is very difficult to observe it with the naked eye because its light spreads in extremely wide space. New astronomers have complete wide-angle photos of Helix by combining high-definition photos of the Hubble Space Telescope and many ground-based telescopes.
