Google decided to charge hosting services 'oversized'.

Google has decided to start charging for online storage services, targeting users who have a preference for storing large types of photos, music or video collections.

The annual price offered by Google is 20 USD for 6 GB online storage, 75 USD for 25 GB, 250 USD for 100 GB and 500 USD for 250 GB.

Google said that when the service is hosted, customers will also be able to 'add' other Google products such as Picasa photo pages and Gmail email services. This hosting service will soon be compatible with Google's word processing and spreadsheet applications - Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

Gmail users currently have nearly 3 GB of free storage, while Picasa users have 1 GB for free. The extended storage level will work when the free storage level is used up.

Meanwhile, Time Warner Inc's Yahoo and AOL have launched unlimited free hosting services for their email services.
