Google developed AI to help combat child sexual abuse

Google has just announced a new artificial intelligence tool (AI) developed by the company to help organizations prevent child sexual abuse (CSAM) online.

According to Neowin, this AI uses neural networks to process images and supports moderators to arrange information via images to find potential contents of child sexual abuse, then remove if they are delinquency.

Google said it will provide this AI tool for free to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as industry partners through a secure content programming interface (Content Safety API).

'By sharing this new technology, image verification will be faster, thus making the internet safer for both supervisors and users,' Susie said.

According to Google representatives, the process of identifying CSAM online will speed up remarkably thanks to the new tool. The company said that AI helps inspectors to find and make decisions regarding CSAM more than 700% effectively.
