GS Japanese won the Gauss Math Prize
Japanese math professor Kiyoshi Ito was honored to become the first mathematician to receive the Gauss Prize in the field of applied mathematics.

The International Mathematical Committee will coordinate with the German Mathematical Commission to award medals and prizes worth € 10,000 to Ito during a ceremony on September 14 at Kyoto University.
The Gauss Prize was founded in 2002 to commemorate the German mathematician Carl Friedllch Gauss (1777-1855) because his research works effectively in many fields, especially astronomy and physics. .
