Thanks to the means of counting viruses and the support of US medical experts, doctors at Bach Mai Hospital have discovered that the H5N1 virus is not only in the throat, gastric juice but also in the stool of PMP patients. in Vinh Phuc.
The above information was informed by Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, Head of Planning Department of Bach Mai Hospital on June 7. Since then, Dr. Tuan warned, H5N1 can completely spread through the gastrointestinal tract. This is especially dangerous if the disease occurs in rural areas, where many families do not use septic tanks.
By counting the number of viruses of the patient, the doctor also recognizes the condition through each stage, based on which there is a reasonable treatment plan.
In addition, thanks to the continuous blood purification method, PMP patients, despite very severe disease, recovered quickly.
According to Dr. Tuan, these are detectable and beneficial issues for patients with bird flu in general, based on treatment for PMP patients - the first in Vietnam to detect influenza A H5N1 since after November 2005.
These findings will be shared by doctors of Bach Mai Hospital with experts of Japan International Medical Center right next week via online seminars, to contribute to more effective treatment for patients suffering from influenza A H5N1.
