Test results of samples of dead poultry in Binh Thanh Tay commune (Binh Son district) have just shown positive results of H5N1.
According to the Steering Committee for Avian Influenza Prevention and Control in Quang Ngai province, up to now, there are 6 communes in Binh Son, Son Tinh, Tu Nghia, Mo Duc and Nghia Hanh districts with a series of dead poultry. In particular, samples of poultry flocks in Binh Thanh Tay commune (Binh Son district) after testing showed positive results of H5N1. The specimens of dead ducks in Tinh Tho village (Son Tinh district) give negative test results.
Most recently, in Hanh Thien commune (Nghia Hanh), there are 12 households raising ducks, dropping ducks with more than 24,000 children. Mr. Vo Buoi's household in Van Trung 1 village raised 2,500 children, from November 20 ducks began to die. He dug a hole in the ducks right out of the field. On November 22, his duck flock died about 700. He recently reported to the local government.
Many ducks are still being raised freely in the fields in Hanh Thien commune
Although several days have passed, the situation of mass death ducks
Upon receiving the news, Nghia Hanh District Veterinary Station dispatched officials to the scene with the local authorities to destroy all the chickens of Mr. Buoi, and spraying and spraying sterilized lime where poultry died. Veterinary Department of Quang Ngai took samples of 6 ducks for testing. On the night of 11/22, Nguyen Thong's duck flock in Van Xuan 2 village also died more than 80, and the next morning, there were 20 more to continue to die!
Although there are no test results yet, nearly 1,000 ducks in Hanh Thien died in the past few days, showing that the poultry herds have been affected. Therefore, the rapid implementation of measures to prevent spread of disease is an urgent task of local authorities and functional sectors in Nghia Hanh district.
The People's Committee of Hanh Thien commune had a ban on free-grazing poultry to limit the spread of disease, but there are still a lot of ducks in the commune still free to feed . Households raising ducks all have difficulties because they cannot sell ducks and eggs and their reserves are exhausted. Listening to dangerous bird flu epidemic, releasing it, they are afraid of being epidemic but locked up, they do not know what to feed the ducks, but still cancel it, there is no State support policy. So there is a situation where dead ducks are scattered on the field, and there are dead children. The owner picks up each one and digs a hole in the field!
Currently, with the local phenomenon of dead poultry, but no test results, the Steering Committee for prevention and control of Quang Ngai bird flu guides the organization of hygiene and disinfection of the entire area. Vaccination for poultry is also being carried out urgently. Currently Son Tinh is the first district of Quang Ngai province to complete vaccination for poultry.
The Quang Ngai Avian Influenza Steering Committee also recommends that people in areas where outbreaks occur should destroy poultry flocks, whether or not they are sick. Everyone knows this is a necessary measure in the current situation to protect public health. But before the great losses, people are looking forward to receiving the support of the State to limit a part of the damage caused by the disease.
