Hail & Hanoi appear hail

Around 18:00 pm on November 20, after the thunderbolt thunderstorm, in Hanoi and surrounding areas hail rushed down. Big stones like thumbs splitting into the roof, jumping on the road. The people of Hanoi in the late 25 minutes of the afternoon stopped everything to see the strange phenomenon of nature.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Head of the short-term forecast department, Central Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, explained that hail is formed due to the rising air flow from the ground, encountering the high cold air, therefore, agglutination stone wall. Lightning appears to " push " the stone to the ground.

Hail usually occurs only in the North, where there is a clear shift from spring to summer (April-May) and from autumn to winter (October-November). Southern and Central Highlands rarely have this phenomenon. Hail in Bac Kan and Lai Chau yesterday. Because the time lasts up to 30 minutes, the amount of stone accumulated is quite thick, it takes 1 hour to dissolve.
