Photographer Mitchell Krog goes to the Giants Castle wildlife reserve in Drakensberg (South Africa) in hopes of capturing vultures here fighting for food. But what happened was beyond the expectations of South African photographers.

The staff of the reserve used animal meat to attract vultures to help visitors observe them closer. However, the vulture's food was quickly stolen by a black-backed jackal.

Unable to lose the prey, the hungry vulture rushed to attack the jackal, but the jackal also insisted on protecting the piece of meat it had just taken. The battle between vultures and jackals takes place very fiercely and eventually the victory has belonged to the jackal.

However, things did not end there when another jackal appeared. A war of meat between them broke out and the victory with the booty went to the last.

Vultures and black-backed jackals are endangered animals and are in need of protection. There are only about 200 pairs of vultures living in the Giants Castle conservation area of South Africa.
