Irkutsk archaeologists (Russian Federation) are standing on the threshold of a world-class discovery. While unearthing a site near the bridge that was being built across the Angara River, they discovered a prehistoric artifact that could alter the hypotheses about Siberia.

A newly discovered pestle can completely overturn theories of World History.

It is an ancient tool created by prehistoric people dating to approximately 8,000 years old. Scientists believe that it was used by the ancient people to smash bones as feed for cattle, soften the fibers to weave into fishing nets. There is a theory that prehistoric people used pestles to pound corn.

If this event is confirmed, it means that Irkutsk scientists have made a world-class discovery.

Archaeologist Mikhail Turov said: "Until now, there has not been any historical and archaeological evidence pointing out that in ancient times such an agriculture existed in Pribaikal region. the oldest agricultural mind is still considered in the mountains, with the Middle East and Caucasus'.

It is noteworthy not only in this type of ancient tool but also in the land itself. Geological slices analysis clearly shows that many thousands of years ago Irkutsk was a steppe. At that time, there were also oak trees, indicating that the climate was quite hot. Then it was the Ice Age.

Nicolai Saveliev, an archaeologist, said: "The soil cracked off the ice. Ancient Siberians survived that land."

Bones of hairy rhinos are the oldest relics, dating from 40,000 to 100,000 years. They were the most popular animals in the Pribaikal region. Their stature is quite small but very dangerous.

Thousands of years ago this land was quite warm.

Currently Irkutsk scientists are actively collaborating with Japanese experts, who pay close attention to this discovery and are working on restoring populations of ancient animals based on DNA analysis.

According to Russian archaeologists, the current difficulty is that local people prevent their activities. The residential area has decided to relocate, but locals do not allow archaeologists to dig their houses and gardens.
