Lightning strikes electrical equipment

Also in the rain in the afternoon of May 28, around 14.30, lightning struck down to burn many electrical appliances and household appliances at households in 101 Go Dau alley, Tan Quy ward, Tan Phu district. Many people said that on this hour, lightning hit the 31m-high telecom antenna column that Tan Phu Power Company placed on the terrace of 101/70 Go Dau.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (101/70/8 Go Dau) told her that she saw clearly the sparks coming from this antenna post after two huge explosions. After that, re-checking indoor electronic devices such as TVs and DVD players were all broken. Nearby, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (101/70/16 Go Dau) said that the water pump was also broken and inactive.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc (101/70) said after lightning hit the antenna column, a 24 "TV Panasonic signal, a DVD player GL did not work. The entire electricity on the second floor of the next house is also turned off. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Cuc (101/72) said that her grandson's laptop was completely broken. The heaviest damage was Mr. Hoang Luong's house (101/31). Go Dau 101 (Tan Phu district) is the cause of lightning attraction.

In contact with the representatives of the households mentioned above, they believed that the cause of the electronic equipment damage was due to the antenna tower that Tan Phu Power Company placed too high but no grounding line attracted the lightning. out.

However, Mr. Huynh Tri Dung, Director of Tan Phu Power Company disagrees with the above explanation. Dung said that lightning strikes and the existence of the company's antenna tower on the 101/70 rooftop are two different things.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc added that between his family and Tan Phu Power Company, a lease contract for a mobile phone station (BTS) has been signed for a period of 5 years.

Under this contract, Mr. Ngoc's family leases 16m 2 to the partner at the rooftop to install the equipment, erect a 31m high antenna tower, install the signal cable from the antenna column to the engine room. To ensure safety, the electricity side drills a combination of piles (maximum of 4 piles) in the land of Mr. Ngoc's house and grounding wiring to the engine room to prevent lightning.

However, when the Tan Phu Power Company staff went down to install grounding wires, there was a strong opposition from people living around because of fear of waves from the antenna column that could affect health.

Tan Phu electricity side has been in constant coordination with local authorities to persuade people to approve the deployment of lightning protection ground wires for antenna posts but have not been implemented due to the earthing location (outside the alley), are in dispute process.

In order to ensure safety for the project and the surrounding people, Tan Phu electricity has implemented the grounding connection of the antenna column into the anchor bolt (this bolt is welded to the reinforcement of the building 101/70). However, the people did not accept and at the request of the Tan Phu electricity side to remove the antenna column.
