How to safely hide the hard drive

If your hard drive contains a lot of important data and you don't want any curious eyes to look at and access it. If you want to access that drive from your user account, create a shortcut on the decktop background before you do it, and when it is hidden, you can still access it by going to Start / Run typing the bearing letter. drive name and colon followed by, for example: ' D: ' the contents of the folder contained in drive D will appear. You can choose from the following two techniques:

1. The first way

If you use Win XP, you can use Microsoft's TweakUI power toy software. Download at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx.

Then go to Start / Run and type: tweakui . Go to My Computer / Drives and uncheck the hidden drives, click " Apply " or OK when you're done.

2. The second way

For NT, 2000, and XP you can edit the Registry key as follows: (Remember to back up the entire Registry)

Open Registry Editor (go to Start / run and type: regedit ), go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPolicies

Click " Explorer ". Double-click the ' Nodrives ' key in the right column, if you can't find the ' Nodrives ' key, you can create a new key also in the right column by right-clicking and selecting: " New / DWORD Value " then Name the key ' Nodrives '. You will see the value chain: " 0000 00 00 00 00 " and this is the place where the work is interesting. The four pairs of '0' numbers (after the '0000' series) are where you enter values ​​for them, don't think things are too complicated. Now the real work begins:

The most formal pair is the value of AH drives, the second pair is IP, the third pair is QX and the last one is YZ.

If you want to hide drive D, in the first pair '00' you enter the value of '08'; drive K is '04' in the second pair. If you want to hide multiple drives in one column, just enter the value '24' (D + E = 8 + 16 = 24) and the first pair value must be '24'. Then you save your work and exit.
