The Indonesian Ministry of Health said the country had just one more death from bird flu. The victim is a 33-year-old man, who passed away yesterday (September 6).
The patient came from Sumatra island, was treated at Arifin Ahmad hospital, Pekanbaru province's bird flu hospital from September 2. By this morning, the patient's health situation has deteriorated.
Health officials said earlier that the patient had been exposed to chickens at home.'He slaughtered chickens for sale' , Suyono said. In December last year, there were many cases of dead chickens due to bird flu in the area.
This latest death has raised the total number of deaths from bird flu in Indonesia to 85. Facing an increasing number of bird flu victims, the Indonesian Ministry of Health has decided to use its avian flu vaccine since September to prevent the H5N1 virus from spreading in humans, despite the Health Organization. World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that the vaccine be stocked.
